Jared Waerea-Hargreaves re-signs with Roosters

In a massive boost leading into our first home game of the season, the Club is thrilled to announce that Jared Waerea-Hargreaves has today agreed to terms with the Roosters, keeping him at the Club until the end of 2017.

26 year-old Waerea-Hargreaves expressed his delight at extending his arrangement with the Foundation Club.

"I'm fortunate I get to live my dream every day. I couldn't see myself playing anywhere else - I love the Roosters and am so proud to represent the Club," said Waerea-Hargreaves.

"There's a strong culture at the Roosters and we're a tight bunch. We have a fantastic team on and off the field and I'm so happy that I'll continue to be a part of it," he added.

Roosters Chief Operating Officer Football, Brian Canavan, was also pleased to have Waerea-Hargreaves locked in to the Club's long-term plans.

"From the outset, Jared indicated he wanted to remain with the Roosters and we are pleased to have retained his services despite interest from other Clubs," said Canavan.

"A popular Clubman and a favourite among our Members, Corporate Partners and supporters, Jared is a terrific ambassador for both the Roosters and the NRL, and to ensure that he will continue to represent our Club for a further two years is a wonderful coup," he added.

Roosters Head Coach, Trent Robinson, added: "Highly respected by the coaching staff and his teammates, Jared is an integral member of our leadership group and someone not only I but everyone at the Roosters values for his contributions both on and off the field, and it's great to know that he'll continue to play his role at the Club for a further two years."

Since making his NRL Debut in 2009, Waerea-Hargreaves has played 118 games to date, 112 of those with the Sydney Roosters, whom he joined in 2010. He has also represented New Zealand on 17 occasions.
