Panthers commemorative ANZAC round jersey

The spirit of the ANZAC, with its human qualities of courage, mateship, and sacrifice, endures in the hearts and minds of all Australians. This ANZAC Day, we reflect on these values, their influence on our nationality identity and the great sacrifice of our servicemen and women on the 100th anniversary of the ANZAC landings at Gallipoli.

Panthers Group is very honoured to announce their collaboration with DefenceCare, part of the RSL NSW, as we commemorate all who served in the defence of our nation.

This association will see Panthers Group and DefenceCare honour and pay their respects to both past and present Anzacs with a standalone commemorative jersey highlighting the significance of ANZAC Day.

In tribute, primary sponsor OAK - Parmalat, along with HERTZ Australia, ASICS, HostPlus and Lion Nathan have all unhesitatingly agreed to step down from the jersey and shorts in honour of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

The solemn gesture by all to venerate the centenary of ANZAC in this manner is truly extraordinary.

Panthers Group and DefenceCare would like to also acknowledge and praise the extraordinary support of these five sponsors without whom this unprecedented gesture, unparalleled in Australian sports, would not be possible.

Panthers Group CEO, Warren Wilson said; "Panthers Group has enjoyed some tremendous milestones in what's been a wonderful history, but none more so than this extraordinary gesture in complete harmony with our five sponsors, OAK, Hertz, ASICS, HostPlus and Lion Nathan. On behalf of our board and everyone here at Panthers, we couldn't be more proud "

"Our thanks to Panthers and their sponsors for acknowledging the courage and sacrifice of Australians uniquely immortalised in our ANZAC history. Your support for DefenceCare honours those who are part of the ANZAC spirit and those who serve our nation today." Robyn Collins, General Manager, DefenceCare, an RSL NSW charity helping veterans and their families in crisis.

Game day will similarly be observed with befitting Anzac Day ceremonial traditions prior to the Penrith Panthers vs. Cronulla Sharks at Pepper Stadium on Sunday April 26, at 2pm.
