Tigers v Eels preview

Wests Tigers v Parramatta Eels
ANZ Stadium - Monday 7:00pm

Battle of the west at Homebush. Can Parra pull away from the bottom of the table? Or will the Tigers get the win?

Two of the struggling teams in season 2015 come into battle with each other on Monday Night. Parramatta finally got a win with a strong performance over St George Illawarra at home. Meanwhile the Tigers had another defeat, this time at the hands of a resurgent Penrith side to the tune of 35-12. The Tigers are a team all out of sorts and have seemed to have lost all confidence. They need to get their mojo back, quickly if they want to play a part in the Finals Series in 2015.

They lose Robbie Farah for this clash who is replaced by journeyman Dene Halatau. Nathan Milone comes in for the injured Tim Simona, Mania Cherrington comes onto the bench and Sauso Sue comes into the starting prop position for Aaron Woods who is off on Origin duty.

Parra lose Will Hopoate, Ryan Moragn moves to centre and try scoring sensation Bureta Faraimo comes onto the wing. Big bopper Manu Ma'u returns to the starting side and will be a big boost for the Eels, this sees David Gower drop to the bench.

Last Meeting: Wests Tigers 22 Parramatta 6 at ANZ Stadium, Round 5, 2015.

Tigers have won 6 of the past 7 and have a complete dominance over the Eels in all recent contests.

The Eels have a poor record at ANZ Stadium with just 20 wins in 53 games.

Who To Watch: For The Tigers there needs to be a big game by Luke Brooks. Under pressure after a brain snap that led to his headbutt last Sunday on Jeremy Latimore. Brooks is highly touted in many rugby league circles. His kicking game needs to be on song if the Tigers are going to put the Parramatta side under pressure. His link up play with his wide men is also very important. Needs to get some consistency to his game too, he can start by putting in a top performance come Monday evening.

For Parramatta, Corey Norman has been a real standout in recent weeks. His move to Fullback has benefited the Eels and could help them go on a mini run. He has great vision when in attack from Fullback and is very safe under the high ball. He is very sound defensively and will be involved in everything come Monday night, another strong performance by the Queenslander can get Parra to a 2nd win in a row.

The favorite: Parra are favorites in this clash due to their win last week and the fact that this game is being played at a neutral venue.

My Tip: Parra will be too strong in this clash. They got the win last week and have been playing pretty good footy of late. Sandow and Norman have been steering them around the park well in recent weeks.

As for the Tigers, they are way off the mark and with no Woods or Farah I can't see them getting the win, they were dreadful in the 2nd half last week and although I fancy them to improve, the eels will be too strong in this one.
