For the second time this season, the North Sydney Bears and Mounties extraordinarily fought out another stalemate in a 34-all scoreline. Bears five-eight Cody Walker was best on ground, followed by Mounties halfback Mitch Cornish. This game saw a successful return of Kirisome Auva'a, scoring a try to his name and a hand in two more.

The Cutters survived a spirited Magpies fightback who trailed 20-0 after 24 minutes. The Magpies trailed 24-22 with eight minutes remaining but the Cutters held on to return into the top four. With Beau Henry in the sin-bin, the Cutters took full advantage of the extra-man overlap to score three tries and earn a commanding lead to claim the win.

Newcastle prove too strong for Manly with a convincing display winning 48-14 at Newcastle Sports Ground. Two tries from their opening two sets, a hat-trick to Nathan Ross and cameo by Jeremy Smith combined for a dominant performance from Newcastle.
