Georgallis returns to Penrith

Panthers is delighted to confirm the appointment of Steve Georgallis as the club's NSW Cup coach for the 2016 season.

Penrith is familiar territory for Georgallis, who held a number of coaching roles at the Panthers between 2005 and 2011, including a stint as interim head coach during the 2011 season.

The 47-year-old returns to the Panthers after four years on the coaching staff at Wests Tigers and Manly.

"Steve has had a long association with the Panthers and is highly regarded by everyone at the club," Panthers Executive General Manager Phil Gould AM said.

"As I said at the time when he left us at the end of 2011, we are most appreciative of the generous service he has given the club.

"We are delighted he is now returning to play his part in the club's historic 50th season."

Georgallis replaces Garth Brennan, who has been promoted to the role of NRL assistant coach under head coach Anthony Griffin.
