Tuesday's Expert Wrap - NRL Semi Finals

Two weeks down, two to go in the 2014 National Rugby League Telstra Premiership Finals Series! Check out all the Semi Final results, reports and player of the year points right here.

Both matches were one-point thrillers - on Friday a bumper start from the Roosters had them up 30-0 after half an hour, before the Cowboys posted two late first half tries to scale the damage back to just 18 points. They scored three tries shortly after the break to even things up at 30-all before a war of attrition developed, finishing with a controversial final ten minutes which ultimately saw the Roosters get up 31-30 off a James Maloney one-pointer. The Roosters now head for a mammoth showdown with South Sydney to see who is first into the 2014 NRL Grand Final.

There were THREE field goals kicked at Allianz Stadium the following night, with the Sea Eagles clawing their way back to 16-all with Canterbury after the Bulldogs had themselves raced to a 16-0 lead. The match finished 17-all after eighty minutes before Trent Hodkinson kicked the 2012 runners up into the preliminary final with an 83rd minute field goal. The Bulldogs now face Penrith for the right to meet either Souths or the Roosters at the big dance.
