Warriors smash baby Broncos

The Warriors have produced a thrilling attacking display to demolish a lackluster Broncos side, 56 points to 18 in front of 21,259 fans at Suncorp Stadium.

In an entertaining contest to start Winter with thirteen tries recorded. It was the away side who were the fastest off the blocks with Shaun Johnson the maestro in a man of the match performance.

The first fifteen minutes was the Warriors sounding a warning signal of their intent. Manu Vatuvei opened the scoring with a typical finisher's effort and the second, Glen Fisiiahi pounced on a Broncos knock down for an early eight point lead.

Brisbane stemmed the tide of possession and once in position clawed their way back to level pegging. Josh Hoffman with a turn of pace for his try giving them some momentum along with Prince slotting a penalty goal to leave it at 8 all.

As the clock ticked over for the half hour, the Warriors onslaught on the Broncos line begun. Shaun Johnson dancing across field before finding Hurrell to steam over for a try and was a visual illustration for what the Warriors were about to do.

Some vintage football from the kiwi side allowed Thomas Leuluai to stroll in his first try, doubling the effort in the 38th minute after being in the right place from a Kevin Locke grubber. Shaun Johnson added a penalty goal on the whistle for a 26 point to 8 scoreline at the break.

The flood of tries continued almost immediately from the resumption. Feleti showing a touch that shows he is as deft with his feet as his hands sending Vatuvei away for his second of the evening.

Party time had begun for the fans as Konrad Hurrell finished a simple catch and pass try. The lead-up work from Johnson and Leuluai was outstanding and put the Broncos on the back foot. The effort of the forwards to bend the Broncos line, gave Russell Packer a platform to steamroll two defenders for his own try.

An error from Nathan Friend gave the Broncos a brief respite in defending their line. They responded with two tries in as many minutes for Glenn and Prince to give the 21,259 fans in attendance some belief of a comeback.

Glen Fisiiahi put paid to these thoughts with an intercept try from an errant tap-on from Corey Norman. Kevin Locke put the cherry on top with a final try and a final scoreline of 56 points to 18 and two straight wins for the Warriors.

Next week the Broncos take part in Monday night footy for a second week when they face the Canberra Raiders in the Nation's Capital. The Warriors head home to face Manly, where they'll look to make it three straight wins against a competition heavyweight.
