Brisbane Hunt struggling Manly

Brisbane will continue to fight for the NRL's penthouse after dominating Manly 44-10 in front of more than 28,000 fans at Suncorp Stadium tonight.

The Broncos were on the front foot for most of the match, never taking their foot off the pedal.

The only time the Manly Sea Eagles looked like damaging the Broncos was just moments before half-time and for only around five minutes after the break.

Brisbane were leading 20-0 when their first mistake of the match cost them dearly.

Interchange Francis Molo lost the ball on the halfway line, giving Manly their first chance of the game.

They marched down the field and on their first attacking raid came away with points to winger Peta Hiku after a right hand shift.

Three minutes after half-time, Manly's ten million dollar man, Daly Cherry-Evans, found a yawning gap before finding Fullback Brett Stewart on the wing with a kick.

The Broncos only led by 10 points, but began strangling the Manly side once again when they crossed the white stripe.

Early in the match, Brisbane captain Justin Hodges scored after a knock on from Manly on the try line.

The outside backs were unable to field a Ben Hunt cross field bomb, allowing Jordan Kahu to regather and pass to his leading man. The Broncos forwards controlled the match with countless carries that got the home side over halfway.

It allowed halfback to completely control the game off his boot, paving way for a score that mirrors the first ever match between the clubs way back in 1988.

Next week both sides enjoy the bye leading into State of Origin 2, before coming back for action in Round 15 where Manly will host the Wests Tigers at Brookvale on the Friday, while Brisbane are off to Melbourne for a Sunday afternoon showdown at AAMI Park.

15: TRY BRISBANE BRONCOS

39: Well Horo is on report. Another one of 'those' calls.

40: Halftime: The Broncos have started this game brilliantly. They were rolling up the field easily, making Manly work for every metre they were able to get. They sat back and waited for Sea Eagles mistakes. But on the other hand, Brisbane conceded a try after just one set on their line. After seeing that, there is no way you can write the Sea Eagles off.

40: Teams are back out. We are ready to roll. Can the Sea Eagles come back from here or will the Broncos keep on rolling?

41: Manly have a lot of fire in their attack now. DCE knocks on but it could be a different second half if they keep it up.

This time the Hodges offload is a curse. Manly inside the attacking 50.

64: Broncos up and over halfway on the first tackle.

72: Brisbane defuse a two on one situation and force Manly into touch.

73: Darius Boyd gets up and seems to have a problem with his leg

75: Broncos push Manly into touch again. Manly have gone into their shell and are trying to go around the home side but it isn't working now.

76: Brisbane put a kick in for Kahu but Matai shoulder charges him, giving away a penalty.

77: TRY BRISBANE BRONCOS
Scored by Jordan Kahu. Kick to come.

It is all too easy for Brisbane. They shift the ball to the right and Kahu finds the gap. Too easy late in this match.

78: SUCCESSFUL CONVERSION BRISBANE BRONCOS
Conversion attempt by Jordan Kahu successful.

Kahu scores on the right and he kicks the goal from the right. Not a bad haul of points for the young man.

80: Stewart kicks the ball dead and that is all she wrote. All too easy.
